For the Family of God

At the Household Bazaar you will find no creeds or statements of belief other than the fact that the bible is our only source of faith and practice available to the Christian church today. All the synods, councils, traditions and decisions made by the bishops, theologians, emperors, politicians, priests and ministers do not have the authority of the God-breathed word of God.

2 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 2:15-16 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Psalm 12:6  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

1 Timothy 2: 3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

(fear= Hebrew word "Yare"- reverence, respect, awe or fear.)

Proverbs4: 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Romans 10: 8-11 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

John 14: 6-7 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Deuteronomy 6: 4-9 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

1 Timothy 1: 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Keys to how the bible interprets itself:

1. In the verse where it is written.

2. In the context where it is written.

3. Where it is used before in the bible.

4. Consider to whom it is addressed to.

5. Scripture Build up: Careful comparison of scriptures that deal with the same situation (not similar situations).

6. God had a purpose for everything He said, where He said it, to whom He said it, why He said it, and how He said it.

7. No prophecy of the scriptures is of one's own, private, interpretation.

8. If we do not know, we do not guess.

9. Difficult verses must be understood in the light of other clear verses, when dealing with the same subject.

 10. The big picture: like a puzzle we have to focus on the overal picture to understand where all the smaller pieces fit.

11. If it is rightly divided it will be in harmony with the whole bible and will fit like a hand in a properly sized glove.

 12. Love is our motivation.
